By using a ball students are able to show they can keep a steady half note pulse to a simple song.

In our First Grade classes we have been learning how to keep a steady beat with various movements and actions. Another way we can keep a beat is by writing tally marks for each beat in our short poem. Here, Mrs. Gouin's class is working as partners in order to draw a steady beat on white boards. One person would say the poem while the other would write the steady beat.
Hello everyone! I am pleased to say that all of the classes have attended music for Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. The students seem very excited about our class. Though the first meeting we went over our rules and expectations, students really seemed to enjoy our fun activity with the song, "Hello! Hello!". Each week we will be exploring new aspects of music through singing, dancing, and playing. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!
